Eddie Steinhauer, LPC-A
Licensed professional counselor associate
West Linn Office
Eddie is an Associate Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from George Fox University, specializing in child and family therapy. His therapeutic journey began as a mobile therapist, providing direct services to children and families in home and school settings. He later transitioned into community outpatient services, where he developed a passion for supporting families in regaining control and stability in their lives and relationships.
Eddie’s therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in the understanding of attachment and trauma. He believes that secure attachment is the cornerstone of healthy emotional and psychological development. Early relational experiences profoundly shape our sense of self, emotional wellbeing, and ability to form healthy connections with others.
Eddie's trauma-informed approach to therapy is deeply interpersonal, focusing on aligning with the specific goals and needs of each client. His therapeutic methods incorporate principles from psycho-social human development, family systems, and attachment/object relations, integrating evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). These interventions are designed to be practical, achievable, and effective, offering clients the tools they need to make meaningful change.
Eddie understands that family dynamics can be complex, especially when trauma or attachment disruptions are involved. By working closely with families, he helps them recognize the importance of healthy attachment bonds, guiding them to create more stable, supportive relationships. He supports each child and family along their developmental path, helping them navigate life’s challenges with empathy, insight, and practical tools for healing and growth.
