Georgia is an associate counselor.  She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is a Certified Mental Health Investigator for the state of Oregon having conducted risk assessment and crisis interventions in the community, hospital, school, jail, and mental health organizations within Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook Counties. Georgia has experience working with adolescents, adults and families; Severe Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI); trauma and related reactivity; Depression; Grief, and Anxiety. She has provided weekly group counseling and skills groups within multiple settings. Georgia utilizes an eclectic approach of Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT); Dialectical behavioral therapy, (DBT); Solutions Focused Therapy; Collaborative Problem Solving; Family Systems and incorporates elements of Play and Art Therapy. She believes in the importance of recognizing how an individual’s personal relationships, behavioral patterns and life choices are interconnected with issues they may be facing in life and strives to serve individuals with compassion, bring value to their stories and celebrate their efforts and courage to heal.
