Georgia is an Associate Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is also a Certified Mental Health Investigator for the state of Oregon, where she has conducted risk assessments and crisis interventions across a variety of settings, including community organizations, hospitals, schools, jails, and mental health facilities in Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook Counties.
Georgia has extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, and families, particularly in areas related to Severe Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), trauma and related reactivity, depression, grief, and anxiety. She has provided group counseling and skills training in multiple settings, helping individuals gain the tools and support they need to overcome challenges and improve their quality of life.
Her therapeutic approach is eclectic and draws from a range of evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Family Systems Therapy. Additionally, Georgia incorporates elements of Play and Art Therapy when appropriate, recognizing the value of creative expression in healing.
